Our story began in a backyard coop
In 2016, our founder was helping his mother track egg production for a 40-hen flock in Kericho, Kenya. The spreadsheets kept breaking, the paper notebooks kept getting rained on, and the "poultry software" available online was either absurdly expensive or built for 1998.
Three prototypes and two very noisy coops later, TelelBirds was born: a simple, bird-first records system designed by farmers, for farmers.
Today the platform runs on 2,500+ farms across 37 countries — from backyard producers tracking 20 layers to commercial operations managing a million broilers across multiple sites.
"We measure what matters, so farmers can finally sleep at night."
Our Values
What we believe in — and why we build what we build.
Bird welfare first
Every feature we ship must demonstrably improve the lives of the animals in our customers' care. Period.
Farmer-owned data
Your records belong to you. Export anywhere, delete anytime. We will never sell or train AI on your private data without your explicit opt-in.
Built for emerging markets
Low bandwidth, SMS fallbacks, offline-first mobile. We work where the connectivity doesn't.
How we work
A tiny company solving a big problem.
2016 — Prototype in a coop
Daniel builds the first version on a Raspberry Pi connected to a feed scale.
2018 — First 100 farms
Word of mouth spreads through farmer co-ops in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
2020 — Mobile launch
Android app launched with SMS-based record entry for low-data regions.
2022 — Enterprise & IoT
Partnership with sensor manufacturers brings temperature, humidity and NH₃ monitoring.
2024 — Hatchery Pro
Full incubation workflow, candling logs and lineage pedigree charts.
2026 — AI-assisted insights
Predictive egg-production curves and feed-cost optimization land for every tier.
