This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies TelelBirds (operated by Vingon PLC) uses on telelbirds.com and in-app surfaces, why we use them, how long they persist, and how you can control them. It supplements our Privacy Policy.

1. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website you visit. Cookies help the site remember information about you — a preference, a login state, a shopping cart. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixel tags and software development kits (SDKs) in mobile apps. We refer to all of these collectively as "cookies" below for simplicity.

2. The cookies we use

a) Strictly necessary cookies

Required for the Services to function. They cannot be disabled without breaking the site. We do not need your consent for these, under both GDPR (Art. 5(3) ePrivacy carve-out) and the Kenya DPA 2019.

• tb_session — your logged-in session, cleared when you log out or close the browser.
• tb_csrf — anti-forgery token for form submissions, cleared on tab close.
• tb_cookie_consent — stores your cookie choices (irony intended). 12 months.
• tb_locale — your language preference. 12 months.

b) Functional cookies

Improve the experience; enabled only with consent.

• tb_last_contact — remembers your name after a contact form submission so the thank-you page can greet you by name. 7 days.
• tb_newsletter — remembers that you have subscribed, so we don't show the subscription prompt again. 12 months.

c) Analytics cookies

Help us understand aggregated usage patterns; enabled only with consent. We use a privacy-respecting analytics stack (Plausible, no cross-site tracking, IP addresses hashed).

• _pa_* — set by Plausible Analytics. Does not use third-party cookies, no personal identifiers. 30 days.

d) Marketing cookies

We currently do not use marketing or advertising cookies. If this changes we will update this page and ask for consent before any new tracker is active.

3. Third-party cookies

Some third-party services we integrate with may set their own cookies when you use their features:

• Payment processors (Stripe, Pesapal) at checkout — for fraud prevention.
• Embedded YouTube videos (only on specific pages when you click play).

Each third party operates under its own privacy and cookie policy.

4. How to control cookies

You can:

1. Use the cookie banner that appears on your first visit to accept or decline non-essential cookies.
2. Change your choices any time by clearing your cookies and reloading, or by emailing [email protected] for an account-side override.
3. Configure your browser to block cookies entirely. (Note: strictly necessary cookies cannot be blocked without breaking the site.) See your browser's documentation:

5. Do Not Track & Global Privacy Control

We honour both the legacy "DNT: 1" header and the newer Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If either is detected we treat it as a decline for all non-essential cookies.

6. Changes to this policy

If we materially change which cookies we use, we will update this page and re-prompt you for consent before enabling anything new.
